The Washington Nationals conclude their series at Miller Park versus the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday.
The Washington Nationals are going through one of their patented funks which is why many don’t have a ton of faith in this team. The Nationals slide continued Saturday in a 6-5 defeat at Miller Park for their 7th straight loss. Nats starter Gio Gonzalez fell to 3-7 with all six runs plated on six hits over three frames. Washington did their damage on ten hits and five walks with Danny Espinosa driving in two while Ryan Zimmerman drove in a run and scored twice. The Nationals are expected to start Stephen Strasburg against the Brewers if his stiff back is 100%. Strasburg has been outstanding thus far with a perfect 10-0 record with a 2.90 ERA.

The only goal the Milwaukee Brewers have is to reach .500 because the National League Central has gotten out of hand. The Brewers took a step towards their goal with Saturday’s victory which was win number three in a row. Brew Crew starter Matt Garza picked up the win with four runs given up on seven hits and a trio of free passes through six innings pitched. Milwaukee banged out ten hits and walked once with Chris Carter going 2-3 with a homer, three RBI’s and a pair of runs while Jonathan Villar went 3-4 with an RBI and run. Jimmy Nelson toes the rubber against; the visiting Nationals for the first time this season. Nelson did not get a decision in a 5-3 defeat at Oakland last time out with a run given up on six hits in five frames.
The over is 10-4-1 in Washington’s last 15 road games and the over is 14-6-1 in their last 21 overall while going 14-6-1 in the Nationals last 21 on grass. The over is 6-2 in Milwaukee’s last 8 versus National League East and the Brewers are 6-2 in their last 8 home games while going 3-7 in their last 10 overall. If; Washington is going to win one then Strasburg is the guy but the team is over rated…
