The Los Angeles Dodgers continue their road trip with a stop at Miller Park to face the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers own second in the National League West but need a very long winning streak and for San Francisco to stumble badly. The weekend wasn’t kind to the Dodgers as the Pirates gave them fits but a 5-4 win at PNC Park on Monday was a positive step. LAD starter Scott Kazmir gave up all four runs on four hits and four BB over five frames with five relievers finishing the job. Los Angeles mustered seven hits and walked seven times with Yasiel Puig driving in two and scoring while Justin Turner scored and recorded an RBI. Rookie Julio Urias gets the call to the mound in the series opener at Miller Park on Tuesday. In six starts thus far, Urias has gone 0-2 with a 4.33 ERA but his longest outing is 5.1 innings.

The Milwaukee Brewers are in a tough spot with the Cubs, Cardinals and Pirates in the same division. The Brewers do rise to the occasion from time to time as we saw this weekend with wins in two of three versus the visiting Nationals. The Brewers missed out on the sweep following a 3-2 loss Sunday where the bats and pen struggled. Brew Crew starter Jimmy Nelson tossed a one hit shutout through five innings before Jacob Barnes served up a solo homer with Michael Blazek surrendered a two run bomb in the 8th. Milwaukee totaled eleven hits with Martin Maldonado going solo while Jonathan Lucroy drove in Ryan Braun. The Brewers are scheduled to send Chase Anderson to the mound against the visiting Dodgers Tuesday. Anderson faced the Dodgers last time out and was hammered 10-6 with seven runs plated in 2.2 frames.
The Dodgers are 8-0 in their last 8 Tuesday games and are 2-6 in their last 8 road games. Milwaukee are 3-9 in Anderson’s last 12 starts and are 3-9 in Anderson’s last 12 starts on grass. Neither team makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside but for a pick…
