The Texas Rangers look to end their series at the New York Yankees with a win on Wednesday.
The Texas Rangers just seem to have it going as they try to pull away from the rest of the American League West. The Rangers continued to play well with a 7-1 victory at the Yankees on Tuesday for their 9th win in eleven contests. Texas starter Cole Hamels was in top form with seven scoreless frames to pick up the win. The Rangers pounded out eleven hits with Adrian Beltre going 3-5 with a homer, three RBI’s and two runs while Prince Fielder and Nomar Mazzara drove in runs and scored. Nicholas Martinez draws the start in the final game of the series at the Yankees on Wednesday. Martinez has struggled a bit over his only two outings where he is 0-0 with a 1.65 WHIP and 6.10 ERA.

The New York Yankees seem like a team that needs both their arms and bats on the same page consistently to have their best chance of success. Neither happened Tuesday and the result was loss number three in a row for the Yankees. Yanks starter CC Sabathia was charged with six runs on eight hits through seven innings to take the loss. New York mustered eight hits and a base on balls with Alex Rodriguez smacking a sacrifice fly that scored Jacoby Ellsbury. Masahiro Tanaka shoots for win number three in a row when he opposes the Rangers for the first time in 2016. Tanaka has won back to back games versus the Twins with four runs plated on 14 hits in 14 frames.
Texas are 14-3 in their last 17 road games and are 39-14 in their last 53 games on grass while going 40-17 in their last 57 overall. The over is 7-2 in the Yankees last 9 overall and is 7-2 in their last 9 on grass while New York are 7-2 in Tanaka’s last 9 starts. The under is 15-7-1 in the last 23 meetings. I suppose this is the Yanks best chance at beating Texas but I don’t think I’d bet them…
