The Line: Atlanta Braves / Miami Marlins --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Atlanta Braves look to build off of a rare home field victory as they host the Miami Marlins at Turner Field again on Friday.
The Miami Marlins look to get one back after losing to the last place Braves on Thursday as they face off against Julio Teheran who will get the nod after Bud Norris was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers and he will face off against Justin Nicolino for the Marlins. Miami has had a pretty respectable season thus far and are certainly in the mix for a playoff spot in the NL East but a strong stretch heading into the All-Star break would give them plenty of momentum as they are four games above the .500 mark and sit 6.5 games back of the Nationals for the division lead. Miami will look to get to Teheran who has had a pretty strong season despite not getting many wins but with a 2.46 ERA he has fallen on some bad luck as he doesn’t have a ton of run support from a very light hitting Braves side.

The Braves meanwhile have had a very tough start to the season and things don’t appear to be getting much better as they move closer to the seasons midway point with plenty of trade rumors swirling. Atlanta has a couple of pieces in place that could be moved for prospects and that includes tonights starting pitcher in Teheran and while the Braves have said they likely won’t entertain the thought of moving their ace I’m sure there are plenty of teams who could use another arm and if Teheran is in the right environment he certainly could thrive and help a team win a World Series.
Miami is 5-11 in their last 16 games two’s of a series, 2-5 in their last seven Friday games, and 4-9 in their last 13 against the NL East while the Braves are 40-83 in their last 123 overall, 1-5 in their last six home games against a team with a winning record and 14-4 in Teherans last 18 Friday starts. The Marlins are the better team but I like the way Teheran has been pitching this season and he is bound to get some good luck here against a Marlins side who is slumping.
