The Houston Astros look to stay red hot and build on their win yesterday against the Chicago White Sox when the teams meet up against on Saturday.
The Chicago White Sox look to put an end to their mini slump and snap the Astros’ impressive 9-1 stretch as they send their ace in Chris Sale to the mound on Saturday who aims for his 14th win of the season as he will go up against Doug Fister. Chicago has been up and down so far this season and at one point did look like a team that was capable of going on a playoff run but right now they are in a dog fight in the AL Central as the Indians have ceased the division lead thanks to a 14 game winning streak and have left the Royals, White Sox, and Tigers in the rear view. Chicago though always seems to get up for a Sale start and while Houston is scorching hot right now you can be sure that Chicago will have a ton of confidence playing in this one as the big left handed gets the call on the bump.

The Astros meanwhile have put aside their slow start and have really made a move in the AL West, and while they still have a lot of work to do if they’re going to chase down the Texas Rangers they are certainly on the right track to get back in the playoff hunt. Houston was considered one of the biggest disappointments after the first month and a half and looked as though they were going to fall short and buckle under the pressure of being a World Series contender but they are starting to piece it together and could be a team that makes some serious moves at the trade deadline. Houston will need to keep rolling though and keep the bats fresh here against Sale who has been dominant this season and looking like a Cy Young winner once again.
The White Sox are 4-0 in their lasyt four games following a loss, 3-12 in their last 15 during game two of a series, and 14-3 in Sale’s last 17 starts while the Astros are 9-1 in their last 10 following a win, 13-3 in their last 16 home games, and 10-1 in FIster’s last 11 starts. This is going an excellent ball game and while getting Sale as a dog isn’t something you should pass up I think the Astros are just the better team and are playing as such here and Fister should be able to keep up.
