The Chicago White Sox look to cool off the Houston Astros in Sunday afternoon action.
The Chicago White Sox went in to a nose dive which unfortunately coincided with the Indians hot streak. The White Sox took a positive step Saturday with a come from behind 7-6 victory at Houston. CWS starter Chris Sale was charged with five runs on six hits over seven frames that raised his ERA to 3.00. Chicago pounded out 13 hits and walked eight times with JB Shuck going deep and driving in two and scoring twice while Dioner Navarro went 2-4 with four RBI’s. The White Sox have slated left hander Jose Quintana as Sunday’s starter. Quintana has struggled a bit the past two times out with ten runs allowed on 14 hits over 12.1 innings.

The Houston Astros have been red hot and playing like team they were a season ago and are a team to watch. Despite Saturday’s defeat to the visiting White Sox, the Astros have still won nine of eleven but missed out on a chance to pick up a game in the standings. Stros starter Doug Fister was hit hard with five runs plated on nine hits and five BB through 4.1 innings to take the loss. The Stros were held to seven hits with Jose Altuve going deep with a homer, three RBI’s and two runs while AJ Reed went solo. Collin McHugh shoots for his 4th consecutive quality start when he faces the White Sox Sunday. McHugh has allowed five runs in three starts covering 19.2 innings but did not receive a decision in either.
The White Sox are 5-14 in their last 19 road games and are 1-8 in Quintana’s last 9 starts while Chicago are 1-8 in Quintana’s last 9 starts on grass. Houston are 13-3 in their last 16 home games and are 22-6 in their last 28 games on grass while the under is 16-5 in their last 21 overall. The under is 6-1 in the last 9 meetings. I’m looking at Houston to rebound here…
