The St. Louis Cardinals host the Milwaukee Brewers in a National League Central battle.
The Milwaukee Brewers are a team that nobody wants to play because you never know what you’ll get. The Brewers offense failed them in a 3-0 defeat at Busch Stadium on Saturday for their 5th loss in six contests. Brew Crew starter Jimmy Nelson gave up a pair of runs over six frames on seven hits to absorb the loss. Milwaukee was held to seven hits and three free passes with Ramon Flores posting two singles while Jonathan Villar walking twice and singling. Chase Anderson toes the rubber against the Cardinals for the second time in 2016. Anderson has struggled the last three times out with an 0-2 record with a 2.29 WHIP and 12.71 ERA.

The St. Louis Cardinals might be second in the National League Central but this isn’t the same team as in past years. The Cardinals have been on a bit of a run with wins in six of nine after shutting down the visiting Brewers on Saturday afternoon. Cards starter Adam Wainwright was at his best with seven hits allowed through seven scoreless innings to pick up the win. St. Louis did their damage on seven hits and three walks with Kolten Wong smacking two run triple while also scoring. Michael Wacha draws Sunday’s start against the visiting Brewers for the first time this year. Wacha defeated Kansas City 8-4 on the road last time out with three earned runs allowed in six frames.
Milwaukee are 3-10 in Anderson’s last 13 starts and are 3-10 in Anderson’s last 13 starts on grass. The under is 7-0-1 in the Cardinals last 8 home games and St. Louis are 1-7 in their last 8 home games while the over is 20-6 in Wacha’s last 26 starts on grass. Milwaukee are 3-7 in the last 10 meetings in St. Louis and are 20-45 in the last 65 meetings. The Cardinals are over rated so take this with a grain of salt….
