Down at Tropicana Field on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Angels and the Tampa Bay Rays will be continuing their MLB series.
This will be the second game of the set. On Monday, Tampa Bay managed a 4-2 win. The Angels had the tying run on first in the ninth, but couldn’t keep it going.

Right-hander Tim Lincecum will be taking the mound for the Angels on Tuesday. In his three starts and 1-2 record this year, Lincecum has managed a 6.75 ERA with a 2.03 WHIP in 13.1 innings. Last Tuesday in a loss to the Astros, Lincecum logged five runs on seven hits in 4.1 innings.
There are plenty of potent hitters on the Angels roster. Mike Trout leads the way with 99 hits, 59 runs, 17 homers and 54 RBI. Yunel Escobar has put up 91 his with 34 runs and 22 RBI so far. Kole Kalhoun isn’t far back with his 89 hits, 48 runs, 10 homers and 44 RBI.
The Rays will be countering with right-hander Jake Odorizzi on Tuesday. In his 17 starts and 3-3 record this year, Odorizzi has compiled a 3.91 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP in 94.1 innings overall. Last time out against the Orioles, Odorizzi put up five innings on three hits with two earned.
Tampa Bay boasts a pretty impressive assortment of bats as well. Evan Longoria sits atop the heap with 88 hits, 45 runs, 18 homers and 45 RBI. Brock Miller has put up 66 hits with 32 runs and 29 RBI. Miller logged a solo homer on Monday. Logan Forsythe has hit 63 times with 30 runs and 19 RBI thus far.
The Angels are 6-13 in their last 19 game twos of a series, and 2-7 in their last nine Tuesday games. Los Angeles is also 1-6 in their last seven road games, and 7-20 in their last 27 overall.
As for the Rays, they’re 1-4 in their last five Tuesday games, and 0-5 in their last five game twos of a series. Tampa is also 1-5 in Odorizzi’s last six home starts, and 5-0 in Odorizzi’s last five Tuesday starts.
I don’t trust Lincecum for much these days, so the door should be wide open for a Rays victory here.
