The Tampa Bay Rays are struggling to get anything positive going and that trend continued Thursday in a 5-1 defeat to the visiting Angels where the offense and bullpen had problems. Rays starter Blake Snell gave up a pair of runs on four hits and two bases on balls over six frames before Ryan Garton and Dylan Floro gave up three runs. Tampa Bay was held to five hits and four walks with Brad Miller going 2-3 with his 13th long ball. Tampa Bay kicks off their series at Fenway Park with Chris Archer on the bump. Archer did not get a decision in a 5-1 loss to the Tigers where he tossed 5.2 scoreless innings while whiffing ten.

Journeyman Sean O’Sullivan makes his 4th start of the season when he opposes Tampa Bay on Friday. O’Sullivan is 2-0 despite a 1.71 WHIP and 6.61 ERA over 16.1 frames.
