The American League and National League meet in the 2016 MLB All Star Game on Tuesday night.
The annual All Star game features the best players in the game facing off Tuesday with the winning league getting the home field advantage in the World Series. It’s also a time for the fans to get to know players on a more intimate basis as each player has their own storyline and background.

As I always say, I don’t name the rosters of each side as they are readily available everywhere plus there is always some controversy in the makeup of each roster because there is always somebody left off the respective rosters that many think are deserving or undeserving.
I don’t get in to the makeups of the rosters but I do notice some interesting trends (for lack of a better word). For instance, the Red Sox have four players in the starting lineup and are not even in first while division leading Cleveland and Texas have five players combined.
On the National League side we have five Cubs in the starting lineup and while I agree that Chicago is enjoying a tremendous year, I’ll buy a ticket to go see a game at Wrigley if I want to see the Cubs and I do think Addison Russell as a starter is questionable at best.
As for the game I think the NL has an abundance of power and the American League is built to give opposing pitchers a headache. Petco might be more of a pitcher’s stadium but I’m leaning over here…
