The Philadelphia Phillies are once again within reach of .500 which means avoiding losing streaks. The Phillies had won seven of ten but cooled off for the night on Friday where neither the arms or bats were strong enough. Phils starter Jeremy Hellickson was charged with four runs on seven hits including a pair of long balls through six innings. Philadelphia was held to five hits and two bases on balls with Peter Bourjos driving in a run and scoring while Maikel Franco and Cody Asche knocked in runs. Jerad Eichoff toes the rubber for the third time against the Mets this season. Eickhoff comes off his worse start in 2016 in an 8-3 loss at Colorado with all eight runs plated on eight hits in 5.1 frames.
Philadelphia are 1-7 in their last 8 Saturday games and are 10-3 in their last 13 overall while going 10-3 in their last 13 games on grass. The Phillies always have problems with the Mets so take this with a grain of salt…
