The Miami Marlins continue their visit to Citizens Bank Park and the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Miami Marlins are well within reach of the postseason but it will likely be a Wild Card. The Marlins rallied late and defeated Philadelphia 3-2 in eleven innings to stay hot with their 8th win in eleven contests. Fish starter Jose Fernandez gave up both runs over 6.1 frames before five relievers put up zeros. Miami mustered six hits and four walks with Christian Yelich driving in a run and scoring while Martin Prado homered in the 11th for the winning margin. The Marlins have yet to name a starter for game two of their series.

The Philadelphia Phillies still have a golden opportunity to reach .500 on the year if they remain consistent. The Phillies snatched defeat from victory Monday against visiting Miami with the pen imploding in the 9th. Phils starter Aaron Nola outdueled Jose Fernandez with six scoreless innings before Jeanmar Gomez gave up two runs in the 9th to blow the save while Brett Oberholtzer surrendered a homer in the 11th to get the loss. The Phils were held to four hits and three BB with Tommy Joseph going solo while Maikel Franco knocking in Odubel Herrera. Vince Valasquez toes the rubber Tuesday against the Marlins shooting for his 4th straight win.
The under is 6-2 in Miami’s last 8 Tuesday games and the over is 16-7 in their last 23 road games. The under is 8-2-1 in Philadelphia’s last 11 Tuesday games and the Phillies are 11-5 in their last 16 overall while going 11-5 in their last 16 games on grass. I see Urena might go for Miami so I’m hoping my Phils steal one…
