Cincinnati Reds vs. Atlanta Braves - 7/20/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Pitching for the Braves on Wednesday will be right-hander Lucas Harrell. In his three starts and 1-1 record this year, Harrell has put up a 3.63 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP in 17.1 innings. In a loss against the Rockies his last time out, Harrell put up 3.2 innings of seven-hit, five-earned ball.

Swinging the sticks for the Atlanta order, we’ve got a few gems. Freddie Freeman heads the charge on 96 hits with 44 runs, 16 homers and 34 RBI. Nick Markakis is up there as well on his 92 hits, 38 runs and 47 RBI. Adonis Garcia has put up 69 hits with 24 runs and 27 RBI so far.

RHP Anthony DeSclafani will be taking the mound for the Reds on Wednesday. in seven starts and a 4-0 record, DeSclafani has tabulated a 2.55 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP this year in 42.1 innings. In his last start against the Brewers, DeSclafani put up a win with six innings, six hits and three runs.

The Reds have a few notable hitters at their disposal as well. Jay Bruce is sitting on 88 hits with 50 runs, 19 homers and 66 RBI. Bruce blasted a homer on Tuesday. Zack Cozart has put up 86 hits with 51 runs, 15 home runs and 40 RBI. Brandon Phillips holds 86 hits, 40 runs and 34 RBI thus far.

The Braves are 16-35 in their last 51 game threes of a series, and 8-18 in their last 26 Wednesday games. Atlanta is also 7-15 in their last 22 against the National League Central and 25-56 in their last 81 road games.

As for the Reds, they’re 1-4 in their last five Wednesday games, and 4-12 in their last 17 game threes of a series. Cincinnati is also 4-1 in DeSclafani’s last five starts, and 5-2 in DeSclafani’s last seven home starts.

I don’t think DeSclafani will have much trouble here. I’ll take the Reds all the way.
