On Tuesday evening from Dodger Stadium, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Los Angeles Dodgers will be kicking off their quick two-game set.
The Rays are coming off a lengthy series versus the Athletics, winning Thursday’s game but dropping the next three by a combined three runs.

As for the Dodgers, they just played the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. L.A. lost on Friday but was able to win on Saturday and Sunday to take the series.
Taking the mound for the Rays on Tuesday will be right-hander Chris Archer. In his 21 starts and 5-13 record this year, Archer has put up a 4.60 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP in 123.1 innings total. In Colorado his last time up, Archer allowed two earned with four hits in six innings for a victory.
Helping things out at the plate, the Rays have a pretty well-rounded group of bats. Evan Longoria is way out front of everyone else with 110 hits, 51 runs, 22 homers and 55 RBI so far. Logan Forsythe has hit 78 times with 51 runs, nine homers and 28 RBI. Chris Dickerson sits on 70 hits with 17 doubles, 31 runs, 14 homers and 39 RBI for a .241 average so far.
On the other side, we’ll be seeing Bud Norris take the hill for the Dodgers on Tuesday. Over 27 appearances (14 starts) and a 5-9 record, Norris has logged a 4.56 ERA with a 1.36 WHIP in 92.2 innings. In St. Louis his last time out, Norris put up a loss with 1.1 innings pitched, two hits and one earned (not a start).
The Dodgers have some firepower with their bats. Corey Seager has put up 118 hits with 65 runs, 17 homers and 45 RBI so far. Adrian Gonzalez has 100 hits with 39 runs, nine homers and 51 RBI right nnow. As for Chase Utley, he’s got 84 hits with 49 runs, 30 RBI and a .261 average on the year.
The Rays are 18-41 in their last 59 games overall, and 3-7 in their last 10 game ones of a series. Tampa Bay is also 2-5 in their last seven Tuesday games, and 3-14 in their last 17 road games.
The Dodgers are 10-1 in their last 11 Tuesday games, and 4-1 in their last five games versus a right-handed starter. Los Angeles is also 5-2 in their last seven game ones of a series, and 1-4 in their last five interleague games.
If you believe the rumors, this will be an audition for Archer to come to the Dodgers via a trade. That said, I like L.A. to take this game before that happens.
