The Milwaukee Brewers look to build on a big 9-4 home win over the Arizona Diamondbacks last night as the two sides meet up again on Wednesday.
The D-Backs head into Wednesday night’s show down at Miller Park coming off a tough loss to the Brewers and things don’t get any easier tonight as Jimmy Nelson takes the mound who has been the Brewers’ best option on the bump this season. Arizona does have some pretty solid pieces in place in their lineup as Paul Goldschmidt remains one of the game’s best and Jake Lamb is having a break out season but on the whole the team has really underachieved and have missed AJ Pollock in a very big way. Arizona’s rotation though has been their biggest source of frustration after breaking the bank in the offseason and even when they are at full health they will have to make some moves to shore things up once again in the winter.

The Brewers meanwhile have had a disappointing season as well and while they have strung together a handful of impressive wins this season they are bound to do so over the stretch of a 162 game season. Milwaukee could have a different look to them by the end of the weekend though as some of their coveted pieces, especially those in the bullpen, could be on the move at the trade deadline and any sense of forward momentum this season would abruptly come to a halt. Nelson will look to improve to 7-8 on the year and lower his very respectable 3.33 ERA as again he has been the best of the thin options on the bump for the Crew.
The Snakes are 1-4 in Bradley’s last five starts, 2-10 in their last 12 against a team with a losing record and 7-19 in their last 26 overall while the Brewers are 4-0 in their last four home games against a team with a losing record, 6-2 in their last eight Wednesday games, and 1-10 in their last 11 during game three of a series. Arizona will look to shake off a loss last night but Bradley hasn’t been great and I think he gets outduelled here by Nelson in another Brewers victory.
