The battle for the Windy City continues when the White Sox visit the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
The Chicago White Sox are simply trying to reach .500 but if they trade Chris Sale that goal might be a stretch. The White Sox have been looking dead in the water but have suddenly won four in a row after defeating the Cubs 3-0 on Tuesday. CWS James Shields continued to pitch well with scoreless baseball over 7.2 frames to get the win. The White Sox mustered six hits and five BB with Adam Eaton going deep and scoring twice while Jose Abreu and Tyler Saldino drove in runs. The White Sox send Anthony Ranaudo to the to face the rival Cubs on Wednesday. Ranaudo is 1-0 in two relief where he has a 1-0 record and 17.18 ERA over 3.2 innings.

The Chicago Cubs don’t seem as fearsome buts they have built such a huge lead in the NL Central it would take a complete collapse to catch them. The Cubs have dropped consecutive contests to the arch rival White Sox with their offense faltering Tuesday night. Cubbies starter Kyle Hendricks was charged with all three runs on six hits and a pair of BB through 5.2 innings to absorb the loss. The Cubs were held to four hits and four walks with four harmless singles. Jason Hammel toes the rubber shooting for his third consecutive victory on Wednesday. In back to back wins, Hammel has allowed three runs on seven hits and three BB in eleven frames.
The under is 7-2-3 in the White Sox last 12 on grass and is 7-2-3 in their last 12 overall. The under is 8-1-1 in the Cubs last 10 on grass and is 8-1-1 in their last 10 overall while going 22-5 in their last 27 home games. I think the Cub don’t look impressive so take this with a grain of salt…
