The Colorado Rockies visit Citi Field to battle the New York Mets Thursday afternoon.
The Colorado Rockies are keeping their postseason hopes alive and that’s about all that any team can ask right now. The Rockies continue to play well and have moved to within two games of .500 after winning at Baltimore 3-1 Wednesday. Colorado starter Jon Gray gave up the lone run over seven frames to up his record to 7-4. The Rockies mustered five hits and walked three times with Nick Hundley smacking a two run bomb while David Dahl went solo. Rookie Tyler Anderson gets the ball for his first visit to Citi Field on Thursday. Anderson defeated Atlanta 8-4 last time out with three runs plated on eight hits over six innings.

The New York Mets are at the point in the season where losses are becoming more and more crucial. The Mets dropped a crucial 5-4 decision to visiting St. Louis with the Cardinals scoring twice in the 9th to squeeze out the win. NYM starter Logan Verrett gave up three runs through seven innings before Jeurys Famillia blew the save and took the loss with two runs allowed in the 9th. New York pounded out 12 hits with Yoenis Cespedes going deep and driving in two while Neil Walker went 3-3 with an RBI. Jacob deGrom toes the rubber for his second match up with the Rockies this season. DeGrom comes off of a 7-2 loss at Miami with five runs scoring on ten hits in just 3.2 frames.
The over is 9-1 in Colorado’s last 10 Thursday games and the under is 7-1 in their last 8 games following a win while going 16-5 in their last 21 road games. The under is 19-7-2 in the Mets last 28 overall and is 19-7-2 in their last 28 on grass while going 7-2 in deGroms last 9 on grass. The trends say under and I’m looking that way…
