The Cleveland Indians look to build on their 6-3 win at home yesterday over the Oakland Athletics as the two sides meet up again on Sunday.
The Athletics look to shake off a tough outing as they get back to the diamond on Sunday against the AL Central leading Indians in what could be the final day of action in a green and yellow uniform for some guys as the trade deadline hits on Monday. Oakland is rumored to have a couple guys in the mix including Josh Reddick who is almost certainly playing his last game tomorrow as a number of teams are inquiring about Reddick’s availability. The A’s managed right hits yesterday but only put up three runs and will be in tough again today as they have to face off against Corey Kluber who is in the discussion as a Cy Young candidate in the American League.

The Indians have been one of the best teams in the league this season and should be a shoe in to be in the postseason as the AL Central winners and with the aforementioned trade deadline on the radar we can expect the Tribe to be heavily involved. Cleveland has been linked to Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy and he would be a nice addition to a team that needs some extra pop in their lineup to keep up with their ridiculous rotation.
The A’s are 14-2 in Sonny Gray’s last 16 Sunday starts, 4-11 in his last 15 starts, and 1-5 in their last six Sunday games while the Indians are 2-6 in their last eight following a win, 5-1 in their last six against the AL West, and 17-5 in their last 22 home games. Cleveland is the better team here and have the pitching edge as Kluber has been solid while Sonny Gray has had an off year.
