The Arizona Diamondbacks look to build on their extra innings walk off win last night as they host the Milwaukee Brewers at Chase Field on Saturday.
The Brewers had been one of the hottest teams in baseball heading into their game last night with the Snakes and almost grab yet another win but the home side netted a win in the 11th inning to temporarily halt the progress of the Brewers. Milwaukee is already playing for next year and looking to generate some momentum into the offseason as they will likely fall well short of a wild card spot in the National League and with plenty of pieces vacating at the trade deadline this team is in a rebuilding mode. Milwaukee will send Matt Garza to the mound in this one as he will face off against Patrick Corbin who will look to keep the winning in the desert going for at least another night.

Arizona has had a very tough season as they have fallen well short of expectations and while some of that has to do with the injury bug they simply haven’t been able to perform on a consistent basis and as such they are well back in the NL West. Arizona does have some good news coming though as AJ Pollock is expected to make his return soon and getting a third of the season out of him this season would be a huge upgrade over not having him at all and getting some at bats to close out the year will help him along to get back to where he was last season as one of the best five tool guys in the league.
Milwaukee is 6-0 in their last six game two’s of a series, 4-10 in Garza’s last 14 starts, and 1-7 in their last eight Garza starts on five days rest while the D-Backs are 8-25 in their last 33 overall, 0-4 in their last four following a win and 9-3 in their last 12 Corbin starts on a Saturday. The D-Backs got the win last night but Milwaukee gets one back here as they are playing very well of late and while they don’t have star power anymore they should get it done here against Arizona.
