The Line: Oakland Athletics +137 / Baltimore Orioles -147 --- Over/Under: 8.5 See the Latest Odds
The Baltimore Orioles look to stay red hot in their pursuit of the AL East division crown as they stay on the road to face off against the Oakland Athletics.
The Orioles have had their issues on the road this season but have had a very successful stretch over the last week and they will look to keep it rolling after a huge 10-2 win against the Chicago White Sox yesterday as they hit the Bay Area to face off with the A’s. Baltimore holds a one game edge on the Toronto Blue Jays with two games in hand and make one of them up here as the Jays are iin Tampa Bay after a weekend set with the Royals and if they can get a victory here against the A’s they will move to 63-47 on the season. The O’s will send Kevin Gausman to the mound as he will face off against Kendall Graveman in what is a pitching matchup of two highly touted prospects but both have had their control issues and are susceptible to giving up the long ball.

The Athletics meanwhile have had another disappointing season and are 48-62 this season and will likely fall well short of the postseason but they are a scrappy bunch that can cause headaches for their opponents and could do the same here against Baltimore. The A’s send Graveman to the bump here who is 7-7 with a 4.46 ERA and while he hasn’t had some great fortune this season he does have some very good stuff and was one of the main pieces coming over in the Josh Donaldson trade so the team clearly values his ability and he could be a go to guy in the next couple of seasons.
The O’s are 3-8 in their last 11 road games, 4-0 in Gausman’s last four starts on four days rest, and 2-7 in his last nine starts against the AL West while the A’s are 1-7 in their last eight overall, 7-1 in their last eight Monday games, and 4-0 in Graveman’s last four home starts. Baltimore is coming off a huge win last night but Gausman has struggled this season and Graveman is pitching well at home and I think they get a win here.
