The Boston Red Sox travel to Camden Yards to open a series with the Baltimore Orioles.
The Boston Red Sox are third in the American League East but in reality they are in a three way tie for the division lead. The Red Sox have been doing their part with four consecutive victories following a 3-2 win at Cleveland on Monday afternoon. It was all pitching with Boston starter Drew Pomeranz allowing both runs on five hits over 7.2 frames to get his first win with Boston. The Red Sox totaled ten hits and walked once with Jackie Bradley Jr. going solo while David Ortiz was 2-4 with a homer a twp RBI’s. Left hander Eduardo Rodriguez takes the Mound against Baltimore for the third time in 2016. Rodriguez comes off a 4-2 loss to the Yankees (ND) with a run scoring over seven innings.

The Baltimore Oriole are in second place in the American League East as they jockey back and forth with the Blue Jays. The Orioles have won three of four after rallying from a 7-1 deficit to defeat San Francisco Sunday. The Orioles are in trouble if Wade Miley is a prominent member of the rotation as he was charged with seven runs on eight hits through 4.1 innings before four relievers put up zeros. The Birds pounded out 15 hits and walked twice with Mark Trumbo going solo while Jonathan Schoop went deep, drove in three and scored twice. Adam Jones knocked in two and Matt Wieters went 5-5 with two runs. Veteran Yovani Gallardo will be on the bump to oppose the Red Sox for the second time in 2016. Gallardo comes off a 1-0 defeat at Oakland with the lone run given up in six frames.
The under is 12-3 in Boston’s last 15 road games and is 13-3 in Rodriguez’s last 16 on grass while the under is 6-2 in Rodriguez’s last 8 road starts. The under is 14-3 in Baltimore’s last 17 home games and is 21-5 in their last 26 on grass while going 25-7 in the Orioles last 32 overall. Boston are 3-9 in the last 12 meetings in Baltimore. No big edge to exploit so homer call for me…
