The Minnesota Twins and Atlanta Braves continue their interleague series at Turner Field Wednesday.
The Minnesota Twins were beginning to play decent baseball but have gone back to struggling. The slumping Twins had dropped five of six before their pitching came through Tuesday in a 4-2 victory at Atlanta. Twins starter Ervin Santana picked up the win with seven scoreless frames. Minnesota posted eleven hits and walked six times with Joe Mauer going deep and scoring twice while Trevor Plouffe went 3-5 with a pair of RBI’s and a run. The Twins turn to Kyle Gibson for Wednesday’s start against Atlanta who he sees for the first time in his career. Gibson comes off of a 7-3 loss to Kansas City with six runs allowed on ten hits over five innings.

The Atlanta Braves are a team you never know what you’ll see as they can be hot or cold at anytime. The Braves are in a bit of a funk with defeats in five of six following Tuesday’s loss where the bats never got going. Bravos starter Joel De La Cruz gave up a run through 5.2 innings before Jose A Ramirez was charged with a pair of runs. Atlanta was held to six hits and three walks with Matt Kemp and Nick Markakis knocking in runs. Foltynewicz toes the rubber for the second time this season versus Minnesota. Foltynewicz defeated Washington 8-5 last time out with four runs scoring on five hits and two BB in 5.2 frames.
The over is 11-3-1 in Minnesota’s last 15 Wednesday games and is 18-5-3 in their last 26 interleague games while going 51-21-3 in their last 75 overall. Atlanta are 7-20 in their last 27 interleague games and are 18-39 in their last 57 home games while going 2-6 in Foltynewicz’s last 8 home starts. If Foltynewicz is on the Braves have a great shot but he is unpredictable…
