The Miami Marlins clash with the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park on Wednesday.
The Miami Marlins are a Wild Card candidate but they need to win consistently with plenty of competition. The Marlins chance at a three game winning streak went out the window in a 6-3 defeat at Great American Ball Park Tuesday. Fish starter Jose Urena fell to 1-4 with five runs scoring on seven hits over six frames. Miami logged nine hits an two free passes with Christian Yelich going 2-4 with a homer and two RBI’s while three players went 2-4. Andrew Cashner is scheduled to take the mound against the Reds for the first time this season. Cashner comes off a 4-2 loss to the White Sox with all four runs plated on nine hits and five BB over five innings.

Not much has changed for the Cincinnati Reds who win a few here and there but can’t stay hoy for a significant stretch. The Reds ended a two game skid with contributions from both the arms and bats. Cinci starter Anthony DeSclafani upped his record to 7-1 with a pair of runs scoring on seven hits through six innings. Cincinnati did their damage on eight hits and four walks with Tucker Barnhart leading the clubbing a first inning grand slam. Homer Bailey draws just his 4th start of 2016 when he takes the hill against the visiting Marlins. Bailey comes off of a 7-4 win at Milwaukee with eleven strikeouts in six scoreless frames.
The under is 12-5 in Miami’s last 17 Wednesday games. Cincinnati are 4-9 in their last 13 Wednesday games and the under is 8-1 in Bailey’s last 9 on grass while going 8-1 in Bailey’s last 9 starts overall. I think Bailey is pretty good and can get the job done here…
