The Milwaukee Brewers look to continue their recent interleague success against the AL West as they face off against the Seattle Mariners on Saturday.
The Brewers will send Wily Peralta to the mound on Saturday night on the West Coast against the Seattle Mariners who will counter with King Felix who always finds a way to twirl a gem at home in what should be an exciting matchup between two great pitchers. Milwaukee has been able to relax since the all-star break as they committed to the rebuild model after unloading some pieces at the deadline and while their roster has been depleted as a result it is giving ample opportunity for some of their young guys to get some valuable game experience in hopes of stepping in to full time roles next season. Milwaukee is 4-1 in their last five Saturday games and again they have played very well against the AL West of late but they will be in tough here against a Mariners side that is one of the hottest in baseball right now as they make a serious push for the playoffs.

Seattle have always been a good team at home and this season is no different as they are 33-25 at Safeco but if they’re going to make the postseason they will need to beef that number up a bit as are currently making a charge at a wild card spot. Seattle was expected to be in the mix in the AL West this season and while they have given way to the Texas Rangers who are seven points clear in the division they have overtaken the Astros are a very good candidate to get into a wild card spot as they battle it out with the likes of Toronto, Baltimore, and Boston in the AL East, and the Tigers in the AL Central.
Milwaukee is 5-2 in their last seven interleague games, 17-37 in their last 54 road games, and 2-7 in their last nine interleague road games, while the Mariners are 6-0 in their last six home games, 13-3 in their last 16 home games against a righty, and 5-1 in Hernandez’ last six starts. This is a big series for the M’s who need to make up ground and against the Brewers I think they have no issue, especially here with the King on the bump.
