The Toronto Blue Jays look to build on their come from behind victory over the Cleveland Indians last night as the two sides meet up again on Sunday.
The Blue Jays got off to a red hot start before allowing the Indians back into the game last night as Aaron Sanchez gave up a five spot in one inning after the team got out to a 5-0 lead but they responded right away and ultimately held on for an impressive 6-5 win, evening the three game set up at a game a piece. The Jays will look to win the rubber match and keep their distance in the American League East as the Red Sox and Orioles are right on their heels and will be itching for the Blue Birds to drop the game here against a fellow division leader. Toronto will send Marcus Stroman to the mound as he will go up against Corey Kluber in what might be the marquee pitching matchup of the day between these two flame throwers.

The Indians meanwhile did a great job to battle back after falling behind big in the early stages and could very well have taken last night’s game but they have a chance to win the rubber match here and they couldn’t ask for a better arm to be on the mound. Cleveland has a very good lineup and look like a shoe in right now to qualify for the postseason but this is a very pivotal series if not for the standings but for psyche heading into the playoffs as these two teams could meet up in the divisional round or the ALCS and whoever can come away with the win in this outing will be in good shape.
The Jays are 5-2 in their last seven Sunday games, 21-10 in their last 31 against a righty, and 1-6 in Stroman’s last seven road starts while the Tribe are 4-1 in their last five against a righty, 2-8 in their last 10 against the AL East, and 6-0 in Kluber’s last six home starts. This is going to be a great matchup and even though the Jays are the better team in my opinion they haven’t been able to get Stroman any wins and with Kluber going I give a slight edge to the home side here.
