The Kansas City Royals look to keep their postseason hopes alive with a win versus the Minnesota Twins on Sunday.
The Minnesota Twins appeared to be finally in a groove a few weeks ago but have been fading since. The trend continued in a 10-0 defeat at Kauffman Stadium for their 8th loss in eleven contests. Minnesota starter Hector Santiago fell to 10-8 with eight runs given up on eleven hits including three homers over 4.2 frames. The Twins attack consisted of four singles with Eduardo Escobar going 2-3. The Minnesota Twins end the series with the rival White Sox with a hot Ervin Santana on the hill. In his last three, Santana has gone 3-0 with a 1.03 WHIP and 1.40 ERA.

The odds might be against the Kansas City Royals but they are making a run at the Wild Card. The Royals remained white hot following Saturday’s victory which was their 10th in eleven contests. KC starter Ian Kennedy upped his record to 8-9 behind a four hitter through eight scoreless innings. Kansas City amassed 17 hits with Salvador Perez smacking a two run bob while Alex Gordon going 3-4 with a homer, two RBI’s and three runs. Lorenzo Cain went 3-4 with a run and three runs driven in as every starter hit safely. Danny Duffy toes the rubber looking to keep the Royals in the playoff picture. Duffy is enjoying an outstanding season with a 10-1 record in 18 starts with a 0.98 WHIP and 2.73 ERA.
Minnesota are 3-7 in their last 10 overall and are 7-3 in their last 10 Sunday games while the Twins are 3-7 in their last 10 games on grass. The under is 18-6 in Kansas City’s last 24 Sunday games and is 15-5-2 in their last 22 overall while the Royals are 45-21 in their last 66 home games. The Royals are 8-0 in Duffy’s last 8 starts versus Minnesota and the under is 16-6-3 in the last 25 meetings. I’m going with the hot team once again…
