Headed our way on Monday in MLB action from Great American Ball Park, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds will be finishing up their series.
This will be game four of the set. Friday and Saturday went to the Reds by a combined score of 20-3. On Sunday, the Dodgers bagged a 5-0 victory.

Pitching for the Dodgers on Monday will be lefty Scott Kazmir. In his 24 games and 10-6 record this year, Kazmir owns a 4.41 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP in 132.2 innings. In his last start in Philadelphia, Kazmir posted a win with five innings, eight hits and two earned.
The Dodgers have a few pretty good hitters on their roster. Corey Seager has put up 151 hits with 21 homers, 58 RBI and 80 runs. Adrian Gonzalez holds 129 hits with 54 runs and 62 RBI. Howie Kendrick is sitting on 102 hits with 53 runs and 34 RBI of his own.
On the other side, the Reds will be bringing out RHP Homer Bailey for Monday’s game. In four starts and a 2-1 record this year, Bailey owns a 3.66 ERA with a 1.37 WHIP in 19.2 innings. In his last start against the Marlins, Bailey put up five innings with six hits and one earned for a no-decision.
Let’s take a look at the key Cincinnati hitters. Joey Votto sits atop the heap on 125 hits with 78 runs, 20 homers and 68 RBI. Brandon Phillips has hit 124 times with 57 runs and 50 RBI. Zack Cozart has 109 hits with 61 runs and 46 RBI so far.
The Dodgers are 4-0 in their last four Monday games, and 20-8 in their last 28 game fours of a series. LA is also 4-0 in Kazmir’s last four road starts, and 7-3 in Kazmir’s last 10 starts overall.
Meanwhile, the Reds are 6-13 in their last 19 Monday games, and 16-35 in their last 51 games against a left-handed starter. Cincinnati is also 7-3 in Bailey’s last 10 home starts, and 19-7 in Bailey’s last 26 starts against the NL West.
I’m going to stick with Bailey and the red-hot Reds right here, as the Dodgers don’t have much to get excited about these days.
