The Cincinnati Reds have been playing their best baseball of the season and they have escaped the National League Central basement. The Reds were hot with wins in seven of ten before their pitching was non existent in an18-9 defeat to the visiting Dodgers Monday. Cinci starter Homer Bailey was charged with six runs in 2.1 inninings with Joshua Smith giving up five more while three more relievers allowed six runs with the Reds serving seven homers. Cincinnati pounded out 14 hits and walked eight times with Joey Votto going 3-6 with four RBI’s and two runs while Adam Duvall and Scott Schebler drove in two runs apiece. A surging Dan Strailey gets the ball against the Rangers for the second time this season. On the year, Strailey has gone 9-6 in 23 outings with a 1.14 WHIP and 3.72 ERA.
The under is 18-6-2 in Texas last 26 on grass and Texas are 9-3 in their last 12 games on grass while the under is 14-5-2 in their last 21 overall. The over is 8-2 in Cincinnati’s last 10 on grass and s 8-2 in their last 10 overall while the under is 7-2-1 in their last 10 interleague games. The over is 5-2-1 in the last 8 meetings. Perhaps a small play on the over as I have no clue what Holland is going to do…
