The San Francisco Giants visit the Los Angeles Dodgers with first in the West on the line.
The San Francisco Giants seem to be stuck in the mud and a large lead in the West is gone after dropping seven of ten. The Giants are coming off of a 2-0 defeat to the visiting Mets on Sunday where the offense never got going and great pitching went by the wayside. SF starter Jeff Samardzija gave up a two run homer over seven frames to drop to 10-9. San Francisco was limited to three hits and a pair of base on balls and left just two runner on base with two caught stealing.Lefty Madison Bumgarner toes the rubber against the Dodgers for the third time this year. Bumgarner comes off a 10-7 win versus the Mets with four runs plated over five innings.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have not been playing well and have missed out on expand their lead in the NL West. The Dodgers brought out the big lumber in a series ending 18-9 win at Cincinnati on Monday. LAD starter Scott Kazmir gave up four runs in 2.2 innings with four of six relievers giving up runs which was good enough to give the team back to back wins. Los Angeles amassed 21 hits with Segedin, Yasmani Grandal, Andrew Toles, Corey Seager and Adrian Gonzalez going deep and driving in all 18 runs with Gonzalez knocking in eight. Los Angeles gives Tuesday’s start to Kenta Maeda who sees San Francisco for the second time this year. Maeda is 12- on the season in 24 starts with a 1.07 WHIP and 3.29 ERA.
The over is 7-1-1 in San Francisco’s last 9 overall and is 7-1-1 in their last 9 on grass while the Giants are 2-6 in their last 8 overall. The over is 5-1-2 in the Dodgers last 8 overall and is 5-1-2 in their last 8 on grass while Los Angeles are 19-7 in their last 26 Tuesday games. I like Bumgarner and I hope he wins but I’m backing the Dodgers with a pick an putting my money elsewhere…
