Coming up on Tuesday from Rogers Centre, we’ve got series-opening action between the Los Angeles Angels and the Toronto Blue Jays.
This will be game one of the set. the Angels just finished off a set against the Yankees, losing the first two but winning the finale.

As for the Blue Jays, they took one out of three as well, their series against the Cleveland Indians.
Taking the hill for the Angels on Tuesday will be lefty Tyler Skaggs. In his five starts and 1-2 record this year, Skaggs holds a 5.19 ERA with a 1.58 WHIP in 26 innings. Skaggs took a loss in his last start, going 3.1 innings with six hits and four earned.
The Angels have a few key hitters atop their lineup. Yunel Escobar has hit 140 times with 58 runs and 34 RBI. Mike Trout holds 132 hits with 94 runs and 77 RBI with 23 homers. Kole Calhoun has put up 123 hits with 72 runs and 56 RBI.
On the Blue Jays’ side, we’ll be seeing left-hander RA Dickey make the start on Tuesday. In his 25 games and 8-13 record, Dickey owns a 4.51 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP in 147.2 innings. Dickey went five innings with four hits and one earned in a tough-luck loss in his last outing.
The Blue Jays aren’t hurting for hitters. Josh Donaldson has put up 131 hits with 96 runs, 28 homers and 81 RBI. Edwin Encarnacion sits on 124 hits with 77 runs, 35 homers and 101 RBI. Kevin Pillar has hit 110 times with 45 runs and 45 RBI.
The Angels are 5-1 in their last six Tuesday games, and 7-21 in their last eight road games. LA is also 3-14 in their last 17 overall, and 1-6 in their last seven games following a win.
As for the Blue Jays, they’re 5-0 in their last five games following a loss, and 6-1 in their last seven Tuesday games. Toronto is also 5-1 in their last six against the American League West, and 17-7 in their last 24 home games.
I don’t trust Dickey, but the Blue Jays are playing better baseball than the Angels at this point. Give me Toronto here.
