The once left for dead Kansas City Royals have suddenly come back to life and it remains to be seen if they can continue their torrid pace. The Royals cooled off for a night in a 3-0 defeat at Miami which put an end to their nine game winning streak. KC starter Dillon Gee absorbed the loss with all three runs plated on five hits over 5.1 frames. Kansas City mustered eight hits and three walks with every starter reaching base despite not scoring. Veteran Edinson Volquez toes the rubber against the Marlins for the first time since 2014. Volquez did not get a decision in a 5-4 win versus Minnesota last time out with four runs plated over 4.1 innings.

Miami Marlins vs. Kansas City Royals - 8/25/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Miami Marlins might or might not make the playoffs but if they expect too, a long hot streak Is needed. After Tuesday’s win the Marlins might be heading in the right direction with wins in four of five. The work on the mound saved the day with Fish starter Jose Fernandez coming up big with six hits allowed through seven scoreless innings. Miami logged seven hits and a base on balls with Christian Yelich knocking in two while Marcell Ozuna hit a sac fly. The Marlins are scheduled to send Tom Koehler to the mound to oppose the Royals for the second time in his career. Koehler has been hot the past three times out with a 1-0 record and 2.37 ERA.

Kansas City are 14-2 in their last 16 games on grass and the under is 5-1-2 in their last 8 on grass while going  16-5-2 in their last 23 overall. The over is 8-2 in Miami’s last 10 interleague games and the Marlins  are 9-3 in their last 12 Thursday games while the over is 8-3 in their last 11 interleague home games. This might be going out on a limb but…
