Over at Citi Field in Flushing, the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets will be continuing their MLB series on Saturday.
This will be game two of the set. On Friday in the opener, the Mets took a 9-4 victory.

Pitching for the Phillies on Saturday will be right-hander Jeremy Hellickson. Over 25 starts and a 10-7 record this year, Hellickson has put up a 3.60 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP. Hellickson got a win his last time out against the Cardinals, lasting seven innings with seven hits and two runs.
The Phillies have a few key bats in their order. Odubel Herrera has put up 132 hits with 67 runs and 42 RBI this year. Cesar Hernandez holds 125 hits with 51 runs and 33 RBI. Maikel Franco has hit 116 times with 53 runs, 22 homers and 72 RBI.
Over on the Mets’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Noah Syndergaard in the starting role Saturday. In his 25 games (24 starts) and 11-7 record this year, Syndergaard has logged a 2.61 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP in 148 innings. Syndergaard put up a win his last time out with eight shutout, two-hit innings against the Giants.
It’s not too hard to find the big hitters in New York. Neil Walker has logged 114 hits with 55 runs, 22 homers and 54 RBI. Asdrubal Cabrera has hit 106 times with 45 runs, 15 homers and 40 RBI. Yoenis Cespedes has put up 106 hits with 53 runs, 25 homers and 64 RBI.
The Phillies are 5-0 in Hellickson’s last five road starts, and 6-0 in Hellickson’s last six starts. Philadelphia is also 6-0 in Hellickson’s last six starts on grass, and 4-1 in Hellickson’s last five Saturday starts.
Meanwhile, the Mets are 2-5 in their last seven Saturday games, and 4-1 in Syndergaard’s last five starts in game two of a series. New York is also 0-4 in Syndergaard’s last four Saturday starts, and 9-4 in Syndergaard’s last 13 starts against a team with a losing record.
I don’t have a whole lot of faith in the Phillies offense, but I think Hellickson can keep the scoring low and give Philadelphia a chance to win.
