Taking the mound for the Phillies on Sunday will be RHP Vince Velasquez. In his 22 starts and 8-6 record, Velasquez has put up a 4.31 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP in 119 innings. Velasquez put up six innings in his last outing, a loss against the Cardinals where he gave up seven hits and five runs.

Over on the Mets’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Robert Gsellman. In his lone game this year, Gsellman put up 3.2 innings with two hits and no earned agains the Cardinals, tossing two strikeouts and three walks .
The Mets have a handful of key hitters up top as well. Neil Walker has posted 116 hits with 23 homers, 55 RBI and 56 runs. Asdrubal Cabrera sits on 109 hits with 47 runs and 42 RBI. Yoenis Cespedes holds 107 hits with 56 runs, 25 homers and 66 RBI.
The Phillies are 4-1 in their last five game threes of a series, and 1-5 in Velasquez’s last six starts in game three of a series. Philadelphia is also 0-7 in Velasquez’s last seven starts, and 0-7 in Velasquez’s last seven starts on grass.
Meanwhile, the Mets are 6-0 in their last six Sunday game, and 7-13 in their last 20 home games. New York is also 6-1 in their last seven overall, and 6-1 in their last seven games on grass.
The Mets seem to be playing pretty well lately, so I’ll take New York here.
