The Los Angeles Dodgers look to shake off a rough outing at Coors Field last night as they continue their series against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night.
The Dodgers have been one of the best teams in the league since the all-star break and have overtaken the slumping Giants for top spot in the National League West and are finally starting to look like the World Series contender we have been expecting for years. The Dodgers need to stay afloat until they get Clayton Kershaw back in the rotation but even without their ace they have played incredibly well and a large part of that goes to the rest of the rotation stepping up. The Dodgers will send lefty Rich Hill to the bump here as he looks to give his new team a strong outing as he will match up with Tyler Anderson who is 4-5 with a 3.69 ERA this season but has battled through some strong outings and could be in for a big game here at home.

The Rockies meanwhile look like they are making their way back up the National League standings as they push for a wild card spot but they need more than just a home win against their division rivals to get there so they will be out for an encore on this night. Colorado has a ton of weapons at the plate and that has been their saving grace this season and if they can get their pitching on the same page as their bats they could very well go on a Cinderella run down the stretch and potentially snap up a wild card spot, but they will have to chase down some quality teams including the Cardinals, Pirates, Mets, and Marlins.
The Dodgers are 6-2 in their last eight games, 6-1 in their last seven game two’s of a series, and 20-7 in their last 27 Tuesday games while the Rockies are 4-1 in their last five home games, 6-2 in their last eight against a team with a winning record, and 5-1 in Anderson’s last six starts at home. This is an interesting series and one that is pivotal for both sides and while the home team got the best last night I think the fortunes reverse here as LA gets one back.
