The New York Yankees battle the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium Wednesday.
The spotlight is off the New York Yankees but I think it would be foolish to ignore them. The Yankees appeared to be going nowhere until a few trades at the deadline and the team began to play better. Good enough to snag a Wild Card is possible but looking in to the future the Yanks will need a younger lineup and with Texiera and A-Rod gone, I see this as a positive. I also look fo New York to be on the market for a few arms. The Yankees send rookie Luis Cessa to the bump for his their career start on Wednesday. Cessa is 2-0 with three runs allowed on eight hits and a pair of BB over 12 innings.

Kansas City continues to rack up the wins and have lost just twice in weeks. I have to say the Royals are in a far better position then I though possible with the amount of injuries and poor play that had them going nowhere. However, KC has been the hottest team in the game for a number of weeks and even though they are in the middle of the postseason race, they have to stay that way and the room for error is small. Kansas City hands the ball to veteran Ian Kennedy for his second start against the Yankees in 2016. Kennedy comes off a 6-3 victory at Boston with two runs scored on nine hits in 5.1 frames.
The under is 6-2 in the Yankees last 8 road games. Kansas City are 18-4 in their last 22 games on grass and are 20-7 in their last 27 overall while the under is 7-3-1 in their last 11 home games. New York are 84-38 in their last 122 meetings. Cessa has been impressive and I hope he can keep it going but his experience makes him an unknown…..
