As for the Orioles, they just played the Blue Jays. Baltimore won on Tuesday but dropped the other two games and the series.
The Yankees will be bringing out RHP Chad Green for the start Friday. In his 11 games (seven starts) and 2-3 record this year, Green holds a 4.09 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP in 44 innings. Green took a no-decision his last time out, going 4.2 innings with seven hits and four earned.
It’s easy to find the big hitters on the New York order. Starlin Castro has bagged 135 hits this year with 57 runs, 19 homers and 64 RBI. Didi Gregorius has put up 133 hits with 60 runs and 61 RBI. Jacoby Ellsbury sits on 121 hits with 58 runs and 46 RBI.
Over on the Orioles’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Dylan Bundy take the hill Friday. In his 31 games (nine starts) and 7-5 record, Bundy owns a 3.71 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP in 85 innings. Buddy took a loss his last time out, allowing five runs on seven hits in four innings against these same Yankees.
The Orioles have some great names in their order. Manny Machado has put up 160 hits with 92 runs, 32 homers and 83 RBI. Jonathan Schoop is sitting on 142 hits with 71 runs, 21 homers and 70 RBI. As for Adam Jones, he’s got 137 hits with 74 runs, 24 homers and 74 RBI to his credit.
The Yankees are 4-0 in their last four Friday games, and 4-1 in their last five road games. New York is also 6-2 in their last eight overall, and 9-4 in their last 13 game ones of a series.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 5-2 in their last seven games following an off day, and 2-5 in their last seven overall. Baltimore is also 0-5 in their last five games against a right-handed starter.
New York has been playing pretty well lately, so I’ll take the Yankees to get a slim win in this one.
