The Toronto Blue Jays try to extend their lead in the Easy with a win at the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Toronto Blue Jays have been hot the past week or so but their lead isn’t big so they can’t afford losing streaks. The Blue Jays were cooled off for a night in an 8-3 loss at Tropicana Field where neither the arms or bats came through. Jays starter Marcus Stroman dropped to 9-6 with four runs scored (three earned)before two relievers gave up four more runs. Toronto posted six hits and walked four times with Edwin Encarnacion driving in a run and scoring while Josh Donaldson scored twice. The Blue Jays hand the ball to Marcus Stroman for Saturday’s start at Tropicana Field. On the season, Stroman has gone 9-5 in 26 starts with a 4.58 ERA over 167 innings.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Toronto Blue Jays - 9/3/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Tampa Bay Rays seemed to be destined to finish in the American League East. The Rays played spoilers Friday night against visiting Toronto behind great work on the mound and at the plate. TB starter Alex Cobb looked good coming off the disabled  list with two runs scoring over five innings while five relievers saw action. The Rays produced eight hits and three walks with Brad Miller, Luke Malle and Logan Morrison going deep and driving in six runs. Tampa Bay is slated to send Chris Archer to the hill  for his 4th star of the year against Toronto. Archer has looked good the past three times out with a 2-1 record and 1.86 ERA.

Toronto are 6-2 in their last 8 games on astroturf and the over is 18-7-2 in their last 27 Saturday games while the under is 41-20-3 in their last 64 road games. Tampa Bay are 3-10 in their last 13 Saturday games and  is 6-2 in their last 8 during game 2 of a series while going 20-7 in their last 27 overall.
