The Chicago White Sox continue their series at Target Field versus the Minnesota Twins Sunday.
The Chicago White Sox are running of of time to reach .500 with the end of the season in sight. That goal moved further away in Saturday’s 11-3 loss at Minnesota where the arms and bats struggled. White Sox starter James Shields was charged with five runs in 2.1 frames before Jacob Turner gave up six runs in 1/3 of an inning Chicago was held to four hits and four walks with Melky Cabrera and Adam Eaton clubbing solo jacks. The White Sox hand the ball to Anthony Ranaudo for his first career start versus Minnesota. Ranaudo comes off of an 8-4 loss at Detroit where he gave up three runs over five innings.

The Minnesota Twins have been in a two week rut where they can’t control the scoreboard. The Twins had dropped ten of eleven before dominating the White Sox in every area. Minnesota starter Hector Santiago allowed all three runs on four hits and a trio of BB including a pair of homers through six innings. The Twind posted 12 hits and six walks with Byron Buxton, Trevor Plouffe, Miguel Sano and Brian Dozier all went deep and drove in eight runs. Andrew Albers draws Sumday’s start against the White Sox for his second outing of the year. Albers did not get a decision in a 5-4 loss at Cleveland where he allowed four runs in two frames.
The under is 8-3-2 in the White Sox last 13 Sunday games and Chicago are 16-36 in their last 52 road games. Minnesota are 5-17 in their last 22 games on grass and are 6-20 in their last 26 overall while the over is 40-16-2 in their last 58 home games. Chicago are 10-4 in the last 14 meetings. Not much to choose from so take this for what it’s worth…
