Cleveland Indians vs. Houston Astros - 9/7/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

For Wednesday’s game, the Astros will be bringing out RHP Doug Fister. In 27 starts and a 12-10 record this year Fister holds a 3.91 ERA with a 1.33 WHIP in 161 innings. Foster went just 3.2 innings in his last start, logging 10 hits with eight runs against Texas.

Houston doesn’t have any shortage of hitters. Jose Altuve has managed 187 hits with 96 runs, 22 homers and 91 RBI. Carlos Correa has 140 hits with 68 runs and 90 RBI. George Springer has hit 140 times with 104 runs, 26 homers and 75 RBI.

Over on the Indians’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Carlos Carrasco on the mound Wednesday. In 22 starts and a 10-7 record this year, Carrasco has put up a 3.06 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP in 135.1 innings. With a win in his last start, Carrasco put up 7.1 innings with six hits and no earned against Miami.

The Indians have some nice hitters as well. Francisco Lindor has bagged 169 hits with 87 runs and 66 RBI. Jason Kipnis has hit 149 times with 80 runs, 22 homers and 76 RBI. Mike Napoli sits on 121 hits with 82 runs, 30 homers and 90 RBI.

The Astros are 15-2 in their last 17 Wednesday games, and 4-1 in their last five game threes of a series. Houston is also 9-2 in Fister’s last 11 road starts, and 4-1 in Fister’s last five Wednesday starts.

As for the Indians, they’re 5-2 in their last seven game threes of a series, and 1-5 in their last six Wednesday games. Cleveland is also 5-2 in Carrasco’s last seven starts versus the American League West, and 10-4 in Carrasco’s last 14 Wednesday starts.

I like the pitching matchup here, so I’m going with the under. I’ll give the Indians and Carrasco a slight advantage, however.
