The St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers continue their series at Busch Stadium.
The Milwaukee Brewers are playing well which means they have been great spoilers. The surging Brewers had won seven of eight before cooling off for a night in a 4-3 loss at Busch Stadium. Brew Crew starter Jimmy Nelson was charged with all four runs to fall to 7-14. Milwaukee produced nine hits and a pair of bases on balls with Scooter Gennett going deep with two RBI’s and two runs while every starter hit safely. Milwaukee sends Chase Anderson to the hill for his 4th meeting with the Cardinals. Anderson comes off of a 10-0 win at Pittsburgh with five hits allowed over five scoreless innings.

The St. Louis Cardinals need a long winning streak to position themselves for a Wild Card. The Cardinals had dropped consecutive contests before squeezing out a crucial win against the visiting Brewers Friday night. Cards starter Carlos Martinez upped his record to 14-7 with all three runs allowed (two earned) on nine hits through seven innings. The Redbirds were held to five hits and three walks with Matt Carpenter and Stephen Piscotty both going deep and driving in two runs apiece. The Cardinals will start veteran Adam Wainwright to the bump to face the Brewers for the third time in 2016. Wainwright comes off a 12-6 win a Pittsburgh with four runs plated in five frames.
The over is 7-1 in Milwaukee’s last 8 road games and the Brewers are 7-1 in their last 8 overall while going 7-1 in their last 8 games on grass. The over is 9-3 in the Cardinals last 12 home games and is 15-6-2 in their last 23 Saturday games while going 7-2 in Wainwright’s last 9 starts on grass. The under is 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings and the over is 7-3 in Wainwright’s last 10 starts versus Milwaukee. The Brewers are dangerous but I’m going against them…
