Pitching for the Rays on Wednesday will be RHP Alex Cobb. In his two starts and 0-0 record this year, Cobb owns a 4.09 ERA with a 1.27 WHIP in 11 innings. Cobb took a no-decision his last time out against the Yankees, going six innings with nine hits and four runs.
The Rays have a few solid hitters in their lineup. Evan Longoria leads the way with 153 hits, 72 runs, 32 homers and 86 RBI. Logan Forsythe has hit 122 times with 68 runs and 49 RBI. Brad Miller sits on 122 hits with 65 runs, 28 homers and 71 RBI.
Over on the Blue Jays’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Marco Estrada in the starting role Wednesday. In his 25 starts and 8-8 record this year, Estrada holds a 3.68 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP in 151.2 innings. Estrada took a loss against the Red Sox in his last outing, going 2.1 innings with six hits and four runs.
Toronto has some great bats in their lineup. Josh Donaldson heads the charge on 147 hits with 112 runs, 34 homers and 92 RBI. Edwin Encarnacion has hit 142 times with 90 runs, 39 homers and 115 RBI. Kevin Pillar has 129 hits with 52 runs and 48 RBI.
The Rays are 6-2 in their last eight Wednesday games, and 2-5 in Cobb’s last seven starts with five days’ rest. Tampa Bay is also 1-4 in Cobb’s last five starts versus a team with a winning record, and 1-6 in Cobb’s last seven road starts.
As for the Blue Jays, they’re 12-3 in their last 15 Wednesday games, and 4-0 in Estrada’s last four starts in game three of a series. Toronto is also 5-2 in Estrada’s last seven Wednesday starts, and 1-4 in Estrada’s last five home starts.
I like Estrada in the pitching matchup here, so I’ll go with the Blue Jays to get the finale victory.
