Camden Yards and the Baltimore Orioles host the Tampa Bay Rays in AL East action.

The Tampa Bay Rays have been perfect spoilers the past week of so with no other goal within grasp. The Rays played spoiler again Thursday in a 7-6 win at Baltimore and have won four of five. TB starter Blake Snell was charged with four runs in 4.1 frames with Dana Eveland allowing two more with recording an out. Tampa Bay banged out 12 hits and walked three times with Evan Longoria going 2-5 with a homer and five RBI’s while Steven Souza Jr. knocked in a run and scored. Baltimore Orioles vs. Tampa Bay Rays - 9/16/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Baltimore Orioles are trying to overtake the Red Sox for the American League East lead while also eyeing the Wild Card. The Orioles had won four of five but their pitching struggled Thursday night. O’s starter Yovani Gallardo was charged with six runs on seven hits and a pair of BB through 3.1 innings to absorb the loss before relievers were able to stop the bleeding. The Birds posted nine hits and walked five times with JJ Hardy driving in three while Matt Weiters went 2-4 with two runs driven in and two scored. Ubaldo Jimenez hopes to stay hot when he opposes Tampa Bay on Friday for the third time. Jimenez has been on fire lately with a 2-0 record with a o.74 WHIP and 3.18 ERA.

The over is 10-3 in Tampa Bay’s last 13 on grass and  is 28-10 in their last 38 overall while the Rays  are 7-19 in their last 26 Friday games. The under is 21-5 in Baltimore’s last 26 home games and is 37-14 in their last 51 on grass while going  41-19 in their last 60 overall. The Rays are 2-9 in their last 11 meetings. I’ll go with the hot pitcher…
