Over at Oriole Park on Sunday, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles will be wrapping up their series.
The two teams split the first two games, with the Rays winning Thursday and the Orioles taking Friday’s matchup. On Saturday, Tampa bagged a 5-2 win.

The Rays will be bringing out right-hander Jake Odorizzi for the start on Sunday. In his 30 starts and 9-6 record this year, Odorizzi holds a 3.81 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP in 172.2 innings. Taking a no-decision against the Blue Jays his last time up, Odorizzi managed seven innings with four hits and two earned.
It’s easy to spot the notable hitters on the Rays’ roster. Evan Longoria leads the pack with 162 hits, 78 runs, 35 homers and 94 RBI. Logan Forsythe has bagged 127 hits with 71 runs and 51 RBI. Brad Miller is sitting on 124 hits with 28 homers, 73 RBI and 68 runs.
Over on the Orioles’ side, we’ll be seeing lefty Wade Miley. In 27 starts and an 8-13 record, Miley owns a 5.80 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP in 147.1 innings. In Boston his last time up, Miley gave up eight hits and six runs in just 1.1 innings.
Baltimore owns a solid group of hitters. Manny Machado has 178 hits with 100 runs, 35 homers and 92 RBI. Adam Jones has hit 154 times with 83 runs, 27 homers and 80 RBI. Jonathan Schoop has bagged 152 hits with 78 runs, 24 homers and 77 RBI.
Tampa Bay is 4-1 in their last five Sunday games, and 1-4 in their last five games versus a left-handed starter. The Rays are also 8-3 in Odorizzi’s last 11 starts with five days’ rest, and 2-5 in Odorizzi’s last seven road starts.
As for the Orioles, they’re 6-2 in their last eight Sunday games, and 1-4 in MIley’s last five starts. Baltimore is also 1-4 in MIley’s last five starts on grass, and 0-4 in Miley’s last four home starts.
I like Odorizzi in the pitching matchup here, so I’ll take Tampa Bay to get the series-closing victory.
