Pitching for the Brewers on Sunday will be right-hander Wily Peralta. Over 20 starts and a 6-10 record, Peralta owns a 5.42 ERA with a 1.57 WHIP in 109.2 innings. In his last start against the Reds, Peralta took a loss with six innings, six hits and three earned.
The Brewers boast a handful of key hitters. Jonathan Villar has hit 156 times with 83 runs and 55 RBI. Ryan Braun has managed 147 hits with 77 runs, 30 homers and 88 RBI. Scooter Gennett holds 125 hits with 57 runs and 52 RBI.
Over on the Cubs’ side, we’ll be seeing right-hander Kyle Hendricks in the start Sunday. In his 28 games, 27 starts and 15-7 record, Hendricks owns a 2.03 ERA With a 0.96 WHIP in 173 innings. Hendricks bagged another win his last time up against the Cardinals with eight innings, one hit and one earned.
Chicago isn’t hurting for offense. Kris Bryant holds 165 hits with 115 runs, 37 homers and 96 RBI. Anthony Rizzo has bagged 155 hits with 88 runs, 31 homers and 101 RBI. Ben Zobrist sits on 129 hits with 86 runs and 67 RBI.
The Brewers are 4-1 in their last five Sunday games, and 4-1 in Peralta’s last five Sunday starts. Milwaukee is also 2-5 in Peralta’s last seven starts with five days’ rest, and 1-4 in Peralta’s last five starts overall.
As for Chicago, they’re 13-4 in their last 17 during game four of a series, and 4-0 in Hendricks’ last four starts. The Cubs are also 5-1 in Hendricks’ last six Sunday starts and 4-1 in Hendricks’ last five starts in game four of a series.
I can’t find a whole lot of reasons to pick the Brewers here. I’ll take Hendricks and the Cubs for the finale victory.
