The Line: Los Angeles Angels +150 / Toronto Blue Jays -160 --- Over/Under: 9 See the Latest Odds
The Toronto Blue Jays look to get back in the win column and steal the series from the Los Angeles Angels as the two sides meet up on Sunday.
The Blue Jays dropped a pivotal game last night after taking the first two of the series on Thursday and Friday and will be out to make up some ground on the pack in the AL East and wild card races with a big effort on Sunday. The Jays will send Marcus Stroman to the mound as he looks for his 10th win of the season, and while Stroman hasn’t had the year many expected him to in April I think he is still one of their best options on the hill as he is capable of twirling a gem every time he steps out onto the mound. Toronto is on a dog fight in the AL East and need a win and a Red Sox loss to climb back into the race heading into next week and with Alex Meyer on the hill for Los Angeles this is as good a spot as any for them to grab a victory.

The Angels look to spoil the party for the Jays on Sunday after a nice outing last night but they will have their work cut out for them against a Toronto side that is in desperate need of another win despite grabbing the first two of the series. Los Angeles has had a down year and won’t be going to the playoffs but they have gotten a strong season out of both Mike Trout and Albert Pujols and speculation on whether they can move forward with this core continues to heat up. Los Angeles will turn to Meyer who is a woeful 0-3 with an 8.18 ERA but if they can get to Stroman and give him some run support early we could see a different result for he and the Halos who can salvage a split with a win.
The Jays are 8-0 in their last eight during game four of a series, 0-5 in Stroman’s last five road starts, and 8-3 in their last 11 against the AL West while the Angels are 4-0 in their last four Sunday games, 2-8 in their last 10 games overall, and 1-6 in their last seven against a righty. Toronto needs to get back on track and we will consider last night a one off as Stroman delivers a big performance
