The Texas Rangers look to build on their walk off victory at home last night as they continue their series against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday.
The Angels took one on the chin last night in what was a disappointing finish in an otherwise decent showing on the road against their division rivals, but things don’t get any easier here as they face off against AJ Griffin. Los Angeles has had a tough go this season and will look to add some pieces in the offseason as they could use another bat to pair with Mike Trout and Albert Pujols and probably an arm or two to shore up their rotation and they should be a decent attraction for big names as Trout is a franchise cornerstone and someone that other players want to be a part of. The Halos send righty Daniel Wright to the mound here who will look to improve to 1-3 and lower his woeful 7.05 ERA, while Griffin is 7-4 with a 4.78 mark and will look to play his way into the playoff rotation for the Rangers.

The Rangers meanwhile continue to roll in the AL West and are looking more and more likely they will wrap up the division very soon as they have their sights set on a championship banner in October. Texas is playing very well and have one of the best lineups in baseball and they certainly have the motivation to do well after a tough exit from last year’s postseason and while the road is still very bumpy ahead they have the horses to keep up with each team in the AL pennant race. The Rangers will be out for their 47th win in their last 68 home games as they have been one of the best in the league when playing in their own ballpark and with another victory here they can move to 8-2 in their last 10 starts from AJ Griffin at home.
The Halos are 3-9 in their last 12 overall, 9-20 in their last 29 road games, and 0-4 in their last four during game two of a series while the Rangers are 20-8 in their last 28 Tuesday games, 4-0 in Griffin’s last four Tuesday starts, and 9-3 in their last 12 home games against a team with a losing record. This is Texas’ game to lose as they have the edge on the hill and should have enough with the bats to get it done comfortably.
