The Nationals will be bringing out RHP Joe Ross on Saturday. In his 17 games and 7-5 record, Ross holds a 3.48 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP in 98.1 innings. In Atlanta his last time out, Ross put up three innings with six hits and one earned.
The Nationals have a few interesting hitters up top. Daniel Murphy has bagged 184 hits with 88 runs, 25 homers and 104 RBI. Anthony Rendon has hit 145 times with 86 runs and 78 RBI. Wilson Ramos has hit 144 times with 57 runs, 22 homers and 80 RBI.
Over on the Pirates’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Ivan Nova in Saturday’s game. In his 30 games, 24 starts and 12-7 record, Nova holds a 4.19 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP in 152.2 innings. Nova went three innings in Cincinnati his last time out, allowing 10 hits and four earned.

The Nationals are 1-5 in their last six road games, and 1-5 in their last six overall. Washington is also 1-5 in their last six games on grass, and 2-6 in their last eight games against a right-handed starter.
As for the Pirates, they’re 7-2 in Nova’s last nine starts, and 7-2 in Nova’s last nine starts on grass. Pittsburgh is also 4-13 in their last 17 home games, and 3-7 in their last 10 against the NL East.
There’s not much to get excited about here, but I do like the Pirates to take the victory. I’ll take Pittsburgh and Nova in this one.
