In Sunday’s game, the Braves will be rolling with RHP Julio Teheran. In his 28 starts and 6-10 record this year, Teheran has a 3.10 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP in 177 innings. Teheran got a win against the Mets his last time up, with seven innings, five hits and one earned.
The Braves have some interesting hitters in their order. Freddie Freeman leads the way with 174 hits, 96 runs, 32 homers and 87 RBI. Nick Markakis has bagged 158 hits with 64 runs and 87 RBI. Ender Inciarte has hit 149 times with 81 runs and 29 RBI.
Over on the Marlins’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Jose Fernandez in the start Sunday. In his 29 starts and 16-8 record this year, Fernandez has posted a 2.86 ERA with a 1.12 WHIP in 182.1 innings. Against Washington his last time out, Fernandez put up a win with three hits and no earned in eight innings.
Miami has a few great bats in their order as well. Martin Prado leads the charge on 179 hits with 68 runs and 73 RBI. Christian Yelich has hit 164 times with 74 runs, 20 homers and 95 RBI. JD Realmuto sits on 153 hits with 59 runs and 47 RBI.
The Braves are 5-1 in Teheran’s last six Sunday starts, and 5-2 in Teheran’s last seven starts in game four of a series. Atlanta is also 8-20 in Teheran’s last 28 starts, and 1-4 in Teheran’s last five starts with four days’ rest.
As for the Marlins, they’re 10-2 in their last 12 game fours of a series, and 11-3 in their last 14 Sunday games. Miami is also 6-0 in Fernandez’s last six Sunday starts, and 33-5 in Fernandez’s last 38 home starts.
I’d like to stick with the hot Braves here, but with Fernandez on the mound I can’t do it. Give me the Marlins.
