Up at Comerica Park on Monday, the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers will be kicking off their MLB series.
The Indians are coming off a set against the White Sox. The two teams split the first two games, and on Sunday Cleveland lost 3-0.

As for the Tigers, they played the Royals this weekend. Those two teams also split their first two games, and on Sunday the Royals took a 12-9 victory.
The Indians will be bringing out RHP Corey Kluber for the start on Monday. In his 31 starts and 18-9 record, Kluber has put up a 3.11 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP in 211 innings. In a win over KC his last time out, Kluber put up 6.1 innings with six hits and two earned.
It’s not hard to find the key hitters in the Indians’ order. Francisco Lindor has put up 179 hits with 96 runs and 72 RBI. Jose Ramirez has logged 172 hits with 83 runs and 75 RBI. Jason Kipnis has hit 163 times with 89 runs, 23 homers and 80 RBI.
Over on the Detroit side, we’ll be seeing RHP Buck Farmer in the starting role Monday. In his 13 games (zero starts) and 0-0 record, Farmer owns a 4.07 ERA with a 1.52 WHIP. Farmer tossed 4.1 relief innings against the Twins his last time up, allowing three hits and no earned.
Detroit has some interesting bats as well. Miguel Cabrera has hit 175 times with 86 runs, 34 homers and 95 RBI. Ian Kinsler holds 111 runs, 168 hits, 26 homers and 78 RBI. Victor Martinez has hit 158 times with 64 runs, 27 homers and 86 RBI.
The Indians are 45-22 in their last 67 game ones of a series, and 2-5 in their last seven Monday games. Cleveland is also 10-1 in Kluber’s last 11 starts, and 1-10 in Kluber’s last 11 Monday starts.
As for the Tigers, they’re 21-7 in their last 28 game ones of a series, and 5-2 in their last seven Monday games. Detroit is also 0-6 in Farmer’s last six starts, and 0-5 in Farmer’s last five starts on grass.
With Kluber on the mound, I can’t find many reasons to pick against the Indians here. Cleveland should get a very convincing victory in this one.
