Coming up on Monday from Nationals Park in DC, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Washington Nationals will be kicking off their MLB series.
The Diamondbacks are coming off a weekend set against the Orioles. Arizona lost Friday and Saturday’s games, and in the finale Sunday the Diamondbacks made it three in a row with a 2-1 loss.

As for the Nationals, they just finished against the Pirates. The two teams split the first two games, and on Sunday the Nats managed a 10-7 win.
RHP Archie Bradley is set to make the start for the Diamondbacks on Monday. In his 24 starts and 7-9 record, Bradley owns a 5.02 ERA with a 1.56 WHIP in 131 innings. Bradley put up five innings with two hits and two earned his last time out, a no-decision against the Padres.
It’s not too hard to find the big hitters in the Arizona order. Jean Segura has put up 192 hits with 91 runs and 60 RBI. Paul Goldschmidt sits on 167 hits with 102 runs, 23 homers and 91 RBI. Yasmani Tomas has put up 137 hits with 29 homers, 75 RBI and 69 runs.
Over on the Nationals’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Tanner Roark in the starting role. In his 32 games, 31 starts and 15-9 record this year, Roark holds a 2.70 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP in 200.1 innings. Roark took a loss in Miami his last time out, logging seven innings, three hits and one earned.
Washington has some great hitters as well. Daniel Murphy still leads the way on 184 hits with 88 runs, 25 homers and 104 RBI. Wilson Ramos has hit 147 times with 57 runs, 22 homers and 80 RBI. Anthony Rendon has put up 148 hits with 88 runs and 81 RBI.
The Diamondbacks are 2-5 in their last seven game ones of a series, and 1-5 in their last six overall. Arizona is also 7-3 in their last 11 against the NL East, and 11-28 in their last 39 road games.
As for the Nationals, they’re 5-2 in their last seven Monday games, and 1-4 in their last five against the NL West. Washington is also 3-5 in their last eight overall, and 6-1 in their last seven home games.
I don’t have a whole lot of faith in the Diamondbacks here, so I’ll take the Nationals for the victory.
